Hello there. This is a guide for mages. Be patient when you read and give constructive criticism.

Magician (Levels 8-30)
You have talked to Grendel and now you are ready to set off and be a magician.
Get 1 Magic Bolt with the point what Grendel has given you
Then get Improving MP Recovery to lv.5
Then get Improving MaxMP Increase Max (lv10)
Then Max Magic Claw (lv20)
Then Max Magic Guard (lv20)
Put the rest of the points on Improving Mp Recovery

Congratulations! You have achieved level 30 and now you can do your second job advancement.
Go to talk with Grendel first.

Okay since i'm going to have these in the same guide,you'll have to read more.
Fire/Poison Wizard (lv30-70)
Get 1 Teleport
Then Max Fire Arrow (lv30)
Get 3 MP Eater
Max Meditation (lv20)
Then Max MP Eater (lv20)
Then Max Teleport (lv20)
Put the rest of the points on Poison Breath/Brace

Congratulations! You have achieved level 70 and you can now do your third job advancement. Talk with Robeira first at
El Nath to start your job advancement.

Fire/Poison Mage (lv70-120)

First get Poison Mist to lv10
Then get Explosion to lv15
Then Max Poison Mist (lv30)
Get Element Amplification to lv3
Then Max Magic Booster (lv20)
Then Max Explosion (lv30)
Then Max Element Amplification (lv30)
Then Max Magic Composition (lv30)
Then get Partial Resistance and/or Seal with the rest of the points.

Training spots:
Perion's Masks (victoria)to level 33 or carnival party quest
Jr.Grupins (orbis) from 33 to 37 or carnival party quest
Jr.Wraiths (victoria)from 37 to 43 or carnival party quest
Freezers (singapore) from 43 to 47 or carnival party quest
Extra A,B,C (showa) from 47 to 56 or carnival party quest and ludi maze party quest
Water Goblins (mushroom shrine/zipangu) from 56 to 70 or ludi maze party quest and orbis party quest
Extra D (Showa) from 70 to 75 or Death Teddies with Mist
Hankies (Leafre) from 75 to 82 or Master Death Teddies with Mist
Blue Kentaurus (Leafre) from 82 to 90
Blue Wyverns (Leafre) from 90 to as long as you want to


Congratulations,you have achieved the amazing level. Now go to Leafre and get your 4th job advancement ready.
And now to Ice/Lightning

Ice/Lightning Wizard (lv30-70)
First get 1 Teleport
Max Cold beam (lv30) or if lukless/funded well,max Thunderbolt (lv30)
Get 3 MP Eater
Max Meditation (lv20)
Max MP Eater (lv20)
Max Teleport (lv20) or if not funded,max Thunderbolt (lv30)
The rest of the points on Cold Beam for funded,teleport for unfunded

Congratulations,you have achieved the level of 70. Now go to El Nath and speak with Robeira to continue your path..

Ice/Lightning Mage
First things first...
Ice Strike MAX (lv30)
Element Amplification (lv3)
Magic Booster MAX (lv20)
Thunder Spear lv15
Element Amplification MAX (lv30),but if you're out of money i suggest maxing Thunder Spear.
Thunder Spear Max (lv30) or Element Amplification,if you didn't max it earlier
Magic Composition MAX (lv30)
Rest of the points on Partial Resistance or Seal.

Congratulations, you have the amazing level.Now go to Leafre and start the path of an arch mage.

from 30 to 32-34 carnival party quest or perion masks (rocky/wooden).
34 to 40 lightning/ice (orbis) Jr.Cellion,Jr.Lioner or Carnival Party Quest
40 to 45 lightning= (Florina Beach) lorangs/ice= (showa) Paper Lantern Ghost or Carnival Party Quest
45 to 51 lightning/ice= (Florina Beach) Clangs (singapore) Truckers, (Showa) Dark Cloud Fox or Carnival Party Quest
51 to 60 lightning/ice= (singapore) Truckers, (Mu Lung) Straw Target Dummies or Ludi maze party quest/orbis party quest.
60 to 78 lightning/ice= (singapore) Jr.Selkies/Slimies or ludi maze party quest/orbis party quest
78 to 85 lightning/ice= (Leafre) Harps,Blood Harps
85 to 92 lightning/ice= (Leafre) Red Kentaurus
92 to 108 lightning/ice= (Leafre) Red Wyverns

For both (ice/lightning and fire/poison) from 110 forwards I suggest trying to get into newtie parties.
It can be a pain to reach arch mage,but after you have reached it pays back very well...

I forget...will there be time to max freezing AND lightning skills? David's got the freezing all set and is getting mediation and a bit of mp eater at the moment (he already has 3 teleport to save ME on potion money--he insists on using it everywhere).

there will be when you got nothing else to add on.
And if your teleport is level 3,he just doesn't get lightning maxed,or he will cut some other skill (which i would do) to get it maxed
For example MP eater maxed isn't as important as lightning.

ok good to know, thanks. I guess I've not put enough thought into it...except to save my sanity. It was better to put even a tiny bit more into tele so he'd stop begging me so much for money for pots Razz I think I'll let MP Eater suffer a little bit. Do most mages NOT max tele? As a cleric I of course could max it, and did Smile

Many mages usually have like lv11 teleport because they want to have rest of the useful skills maxed
Slow..well Slow is one of those which is very useless..
